Perspective: Why I Joined Avallone after +20 years in Banking

After more than 22 years in the banking world, I’ve finally decided it’s time for something new, and that “something new” is called Avallone.

Now, before you think this was a spontaneous midlife decision, let me rewind a little. My career so far has been quite a ride: I’ve worked across almost every corner of banking - from customer support and business analysis - to project management, sales and strategic partnerships. I started off solving client issues and learning how things actually work behind the shiny front-end of financial institutions. From there, I moved into projects that shaped systems, streamlined workflows, and (occasionally) saved everyone’s sanity.

After many years on the banking side, I joined Fides Treasury Services, where I started again as a project manager. That role reconnected me with what I love most, working with people and helping them make sense of complex treasury landscapes. Over time, I moved deeper into sales and relationship management, and eventually became the Team Head for Strategic Partnerships. It was an incredible journey, being part of a company with deep roots in the industry but a forward-thinking mindset gave me the chance to combine my analytical background with my love for human interaction.

And that’s a theme that’s followed me since the very beginning of my career. Even back when I was still figuring out what kind of suit to wear, I knew that being in touch with people, internally within projects, but especially externally with customers, was my favorite part of the job. There’s just something deeply satisfying about a customer who’s genuinely happy. Seeing that spark of gratitude when things work the way they should, or hearing that our product made their life easier, that never gets old. And yes, even the challenging conversations (the ones where you have to keep smiling through clenched teeth) have always given me energy.

Because in the end, those moments, the feedback, the discussions, the collaboration, are what make our work meaningful. Products are important, yes, but it’s people who make partnerships work. That’s probably also why I’ve never been one to shy away from new experiences.

When I was younger, I was always that person who just had to try something before forming an opinion. Snowboarding? Let’s go. Motorbikes? Absolutely. Mountain biking on sketchy trails? Sure, what could go wrong? Bungee jumping? Why not, let’s see what gravity feels like from another perspective. That same curiosity and drive to experience first, judge later has shaped not only my hobbies but also my professional life. I’ve never been afraid to explore new roles, learn new things, and step into unfamiliar territory.

Which brings me back to Avallone.

After two decades in a very structured, established environment, I wanted to see something different. I wanted to experience that start-up vibe, the buzz, the freedom to try, the chance to challenge old ways and build new ones. I wanted to be in a place where change is something that happens because people believe in it.

Avallone, with its fresh energy and big ambitions, instantly caught my attention. The company’s mission resonates with me, simplifying complex workflows, bringing transparency and trust into an area that desperately needs it, and creating real value for clients. But beyond that, it’s the people that made me want to join. I could feel the passion, the creativity, and that shared spark of wanting to build something meaningful.

Joining Avallone is, for me, about more than just a new job. It’s about new perspectives. It’s about learning from colleagues who come from different backgrounds, understanding new products and technologies, and figuring out together how to make an impact. It’s about building something that lasts, something that, years from now, we can all look back on and say, “We did that.”

Of course, I’m also excited to bring my own experience to the table, those two decades of banking, client interactions, and partnership building. I’ve seen how trust and transparency make or break relationships in this industry. I’ve seen what happens when communication works, and what happens when it doesn’t. My goal here is to take everything I’ve learned and use it to strengthen Avallone’s connections with customers, partners, and everyone in between.

And let’s be honest, I also wanted a bit of fun. Work should be serious when it needs to be, but there’s always room for laughter, good talks, and the occasional crazy idea. I truly believe that a team that enjoys working together performs better, innovates faster, and lasts longer. A company culture that leaves space for both success and smiles, that’s something I value deeply.

So, why Avallone?

Because I wanted to challenge myself again. Because I wanted to see what happens when experience meets innovation. Because I wanted to be part of a company that’s growing, changing, and isn’t afraid to rewrite the rules when needed. Because I wanted to work with people who are driven by purpose, not just process.

And because, deep down, I’m still that person who loves to try new things, whether it’s snowboarding or any other wintersports, taking on a new professional challenge, or helping customers discover solutions they didn’t know were possible.

Here’s to new beginnings, new challenges, and a lot of great conversations ahead. I’m excited to start this chapter with Avallone, and even more excited to see where the ride takes us.
